Formerly known as the Omniplex, Science Museum Oklahoma is one of Oklahoma’s first destinations for educational attractions. The museum houses over 8 acres of hands-on science experiences, blended with thousands of space, aviation and cultural artefacts.

For science-minded individuals, there is everything to learn at the Science Museum Oklahoma. Visitors get to see diverse exhibits from which they just not learn, but also get to explore the tools and create their own projects. Amidst the several exhibits is the Planetarium. The Planetarium gives visitors the opportunity to experience the explosive fun of space.
Science Museum Oklahoma offers diverse programs for both kids and adults. The museum offers great camps for Oklahoma City metro families amidst other programs. The camps are for kids from pre-K to 6th grade in the winter, spring, summer and fall. The camps are fantastic opportunities for young scientists to get new experience as camp themes vary each season.
SMO’s Late Nite Labs are friendly experiences for special after-hours family nights out. The Science Museum Oklahoma Late Nite Labs offers unique hands-on activities, Science Live and Kirkpatrick Planetarium shows as well as the museum permanent exhibits.
Science Museum Oklahoma offers an Apprentice Program for students entering seventh grade through senior year of high school. The Apprentice program is a volunteer opportunity for the participants to experience the behind-the-scenes working of a science museum. This program helps to increase the science literacy, confidence and job skills of the participants. Soft skills required at the workplace, such as leadership, problem-solving, working in teams and good communication, are developed through this program.
The Museum is open Monday to Friday at 10 am-3 pm, Saturday 10 am-5 pm and Sunday 11 am-5 pm. Science Museum Oklahoma is opened on all federal holidays including New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day and Veterans Day. However, the museum is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
