The Oklahoma City Museum of Art (OKCMOA) is one of the prominent institutions in the nation. The Museum is located in the Donald W. Reynolds Visual Arts Center at 415 Couch Dr, Oklahoma City, OK 73102, United States. Over 125,000 visitors are served by the museum on an annual basis, which comes from all fifty states and thirty foreign countries.
Diverse collections from Europe, North America and Asia are featured at the Museum with specific intensity in the American art and postwar arts. Among the endless collections of the OKCMOA is one of the world’s significant public collections of Dale Chihuly glass, major collections of Brett Weston photography and the collection of works by the Washington Color painter, Paul Reed.
Also at the museum is a growing collection of contemporary arts with a first floor which is dedicated to travelling exhibits. This features the likes of Chuck Close, Fabergé, Andy Warhol and many more.
Oklahoma City Museum of Art presents diverse exhibitions which are organized by prestigious museums and collections all around the world. The renowned 250-seat Samuel Roberts Nike Theatre of the Museum screens the outstanding international, independent, documentary and classic films.
The Museum is made up of two lobbies, one located at the atrium entrance to the building’s west, and the second at the theater box office to the building’s east. Each of the lobbies features large-scale glass installations by Dale Chihuly.
The museum, in a bid to fulfill its mission of community outreach and education, offers classes, camps and workshops. These range from landscape drawing and photography to printmaking and glassblowing which are regularly offered for both youths and adults.
Amenities available at the Oklahoma City of Museum Art are the Museum Store, the Museum Cafe, the Roof Terrace, a full bar– which offers an extensive wine list, and an on-site catering service. The Museum Café offers great dining for lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. The Roof Terrace gives an incredible view of downtown Oklahoma City. It is often used for special Museum events.
